Detailed Itinerary for 15 days Eco Safari Uganda

Day 1: Transfer to booked accommodation in Entebbe or Kampala

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, meet your driver or guide who will transfer you to Kampala for dinner and overnight at Serena Hotel / Emin pasha / Cassia Lodge / Holiday Express. Meal plan: H/B

Day 2: Transfer from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park

After you have had your delicious breakfast, you will start your journey to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhino tracking and also start your search for the shoe billed while enjoying a cruise in a traditional canoe. After your lunch, you will proceed to Murchison Falls National Park, the largest protected area in Uganda, visit the top of the spectacular falls, where you can see the Nile’s perfected beauty and the strength of water as it squeezes through the narrow gorge and feeding its water in the Victoria Nile.

The 43-meter drop of the falls creates a thunderous roar and a beautiful rainbow in a plume of spray – the best of the Nile River. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge / Chobe lodge/Nile safari lodge / Sambiya River lodge / Murchison River Lodge / Red Chilli Rest Camp. Meal plan: F/B

Day 3: Game Drive and Boat Cruise On The River Nile

After your breakfast, you will set out for a morning game drive to view big game animals and later return to your lodge after lunch, proceed for a two-hour cruise to the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls from where the rushing water escapes through a narrow gorge forming a great thunder. This is an opportunity to see the amazing hippos, and crocodiles along the riverbanks, Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: F/B.

Day 4: Murchison falls – Kibale Forest National Park

Transfer to Kibale national park after your breakfast and check out of your safari lodge. Begin your journey driving southwards through the Albertine Escarpment of the great Western Rift Valley, you will have your lunch before you reach Kibale forest, National Park. Continue your drive through Hoima and reach the colourful and beautiful town of Fort Portal, the capital of the Toro kingdom, situated in the shadow of the fabled “Mountains of the Moon” the Rwenzori.

Upon your arrival, you will check into your safari lodge and have an evening nature walk at Bigodi to spot a variety of birds like the loveliest rare shoebill stork, White and Black Colobus, Vervet monkey and much more. When you get to Kibale, you will check into your safari lodge and have dinner and overnight at Ndali lodge / Kyaninga lodge / Kibale safari lodge / Mountains of the Moon Hotel / Chimp Nest. Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters with your packed lunch to be briefed about the chimpanzee tracking and thereafter you will begin your tracking to have an awesome one on one with man’s closest relative that can only be found in large numbers in Kibale, reputed to have the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. Kibale has a total of 13 primate species and of course, the Chimpanzees are the most popular of them all. Other Primate monkeys include the black and white Colobus, Blue monkey, Grey-cheeked mangabey, Red-tailed monkey, and Olive baboon to mention but a few.

You will later in the afternoon set out for a guided nature walk in the tropical rain forest in search of the wild chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and many others and continue for a hike to Lake Nkuruba to view the crater lakes. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: F/B.

Day 6: Transfer from Kibale Forest to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After your morning breakfast and checking out of your safari lodge, you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park following the mystical Rwenzori Mountain Range. You might get to spot various wildlife as you go through your safari to Uganda National Park. You will check into your safari lodge have lunch and later enjoy the unique 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, Lake Edward.

This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of hippos. This launch/cruise offers an excellent platform for beautiful pictures of various bird species for bird lovers watching and game viewing. Day 7: Game Drive and Boat Ride on Kazinga channel

After your early morning cup of coffee, you will set off for a game drive along the Kasenyi track and Queen’s mile in the Park. Expect to see lots of wildlife and birds enjoy taking pictures and later you will get back to your lodge for breakfast. After lunch, later in the afternoon, you will enjoy the two-hour launch trip on Kazinga channel for a great chance to see the aquatic wildlife and birds. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 8: Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge to Ishasha Sector then Bwindi

After breakfast, drive to Kyambura gorge with your packed lunch for a forest walk to look for the habituated chimpanzees and other Primates. The chimpanzees are quite mobile and viewing them is unpredictable, but the walk is a big adventure. This gorge is 16 km long on the Rift Valley and 100 meters deep.

Continue to the Ishasha sector of the park in search of the tree-climbing lions and spend a few minutes observing them and taking pictures before proceeding to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park for dinner and overnight at Buhoma Lodge / Engagi lodge / Buhoma Camp / Bwindi view. Day 9: Mountains Gorilla Tracking Bwindi Forest National Park

Wake up to an early breakfast and continue to the park headquarters for a briefing from the guides before you set off for the mountain gorilla tracking inside the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. You will need to carry drinking water and your packed lunch as well as other essentials that will be provided for the tracking experience. You will have a stop for lunch during the gorilla tracking.

After tracking, you will return to your lodge for some refreshments, check out and embark on a scenic journey to Lake Bunyonyi through and let the beauty of the Switzerland of Africa” engulf you. Upon your arrival, you will check into your safari lodge, and have some time of relaxation as you wait for your dinner and overnight. Day 10: Transfer from Bwindi Forest National Park to Lake Bunyonyi Canoeing

After a delicious morning breakfast, you will carry your packed lunch, have a few hours of canoeing, birding, and a lunch break then you will continue for a nature walk. Later in the afternoon, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: F/B.

Day 11: Lake Bunyonyi / Lake Mburo National Park Game drive

After your breakfast, you will embark on a journey to Lake Mburo National Park and have lunch upon your arrival at your booked safari lodge for the night. After lunch, you will have an afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo to see some aquatic wildlife and birds. Later on, after your adventurous boat cruise, you will have an evening game drive, a good chance to spot different wildlife especially Zebras, antelopes, various bird species and so much more. You will then retire to your lodge and check in for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: F/B.

Day 12: Lake Mburo National Park or Kampala

After your breakfast, check out of your safari lodge and start your journey back to Kampala, have a stopover at the Uganda Equator where you will have an opportunity to stand in 2 hemispheres at the same time and take some photos. You will then continue your journey to Kampala and check into your hotel for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: H / B

Day 13: Transfer from Kampala to Jinja tour

After your breakfast, you will set out for a city tour, visit the craft markets, Makerere University, Uganda’s most prominent university, Uganda museum, Bahai temple and Namugongo shrine. You will stop to have lunch and after transfer to Jinja and check into your safari lodge for dinner and overnight. Accommodation options: Jinja Nile Resort / Holland Park. Meal plan: F/B

Day 14: Jinja eco safari Uganda

Start your day with a warm delicious breakfast and kick it off with some hard adventure of bungee jumping and then proceed to the source of the Nile, have lunch and drive for an eco-Safari Uganda to Mabira, Uganda’s largest natural forest, continue with your day’s adventure to Sezibwa to enjoy pictures and get some facts about the falls. You will continue your drive to Kampala/Entebbe for dinner and overnight at Entebbe airport view. Meal plan: F/B

Day 15: Entebbe – Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary

Today after breakfast, we proceed to Entebbe waterfront club and board a speed boat to Ngamba island chimpanzee sanctuary. You will be welcomed by the day caregiver, and you will rest at the resource centre for a briefing about the rules of chimpanzee tracking and the island itself.

Later you will experience the midday feeding session, have lunch on the island and after, you will prepare to return to Entebbe if your flight is late in the evening, you will also visit the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre to see some animals that were rescued and domesticated in the zoo. Your driver will be waiting to transfer you to the airport, and you may have a stop for dinner depending on the time you have to be at the airport to check. End of your Safari Uganda
