Day 1: Drive to Lake Nkuruba Nature Reserve with Hiking

Depending on where you will have spent the night, our driver or guide will pick you up by 6:00 am, and you will depart by 6:30 am. We usually do it as much as possible to avoid the Kampala capital city jam; thereafter, drive straight to Kibale Forest National Park using the Mityana-Mubende, Fort Portal route, and after about 5 hours you will be in Kibale Forest National Park. Once in the park, drive straight to Lake Nkuruba nature reserve and community campsite, where you will be having your launch.

Immediately after having your lunch, head out for a hike adventure. The most exciting thing about it is that when you are at the top, it will literally feel like you can see the whole world at your feet. It is an absolutely priceless view! as you will then walk back to the starting point where the driver or guide will be waiting for you to take you back to your safari lodge for dinner and overnight. Get an evening of rest and preparation for the next day’s fun activity as well as a journey back to Kampala.

Start off your day with an early morning breakfast around 6:00 am, check out of accommodation, and with the help of a driver or guide, load your things into the safari van. Drive then to the starting point of chimpanzee tracking; here you will have a briefing starting at 7:30 am before the chimpanzee trekking. These briefings are done to help you have a look into the typical life of these animals and know what to not do that might make them attack you.

When you find chimpanzees, you are given about an hour with them to take pictures and see how they go about their daily lives.
