3 day gorilla habituation experience in Uganda, which is the newest activity in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, is the habitat of close to half of the remaining gorillas in the whole world. That is why the government of Uganda saw it fit to habituate these endangered species to prevent their extinction. The gorilla habituation was introduced to facilitate and support the protection of these gentle giants, where tourists pay a fee to go spend the day peacefully and view these species in their protected wild habitat.

The 3 day gorilla habituation experience in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park gives the trekker time to view the gorillas in their natural habitat for a day, learn how they live in the wilderness, and really get a feel of the moving, feeding, and interaction patterns of these gentle giants. Detailed itinerary for 3 days Gorilla habituation experience

Day 1: Kampala to Bwindi Forest National Park

You’ll have breakfast, and then you will be given a briefing about the safari you are about to have at 6:30 am after breakfast so as to avoid the early morning traffic jam in Kampala city. The Gorilla Habituation Experience trip starts with traveling southwestwards while viewing the local livelihoods of the communities in the central region of Uganda. Then connect to Mbarara, where you make a stopover for lunch at Igongo Cultural Center.

After lunch, proceed to Bwindi (Rushaga section) as you continue with views of the magnificent scenery and the rolling hills of Kigezi, which finally connects to Rushaga, which is part of the Bwindi Forest. Upon arrival and checking into your safari lodge, you can freshen up and have your dinner.

Day 2: Gorilla Habituation Experience Bwindi impenetrable forest National Park

Wake up very early in the morning, at 6:00 am for breakfast, and then proceed to the gorilla tracking briefing point to be briefed about the safety guidelines and be allocated guides and groups for tracking. Setting off at exactly 8:00 am, the guide makes sure everyone has a packed lunch, enough drinking water, comfortable safety shoes, and someone to help them lift their heavy equipment if they get tired along the way.

Gorilla Habituation is one of the most exciting and adventurous activities you will ever experience! Spend the whole day viewing and tracking the gorilla as you take plenty of great pictures and get to view their movement and interaction patterns. You then have a few minutes to have your packed lunch and rest, then continue enjoying your wonderful experience with the Gentle Giants till 5:00 pm! Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 3: Transfer From Bwindi Forest to Kampala or Entebbe

Have breakfast and then embark on your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe. After breakfast and checking out of your safari lodge. Lunch en route at the Equator, where you can take pictures and buy different African souvenirs as well as have lunch. You’ll then proceed to the final leg of the trip for drop-off at the hotel or airport for the return flight back home.
