Detailed Itinerary for 4 day Chimpanzee Trekking Kibale and Wildlife Queen Elizabeth
Day 1: Travel to Kibale Forest National Park
Have an early breakfast; pick up from your hotel is at 7:00 am by the driver or guide. Travel westward through Mityana-Masindi-Kyenjojo and get to Fort Portal for a lunch stop. Thereafter, continue for another 45 minutes and get to your reserved safari lodge, check in, and later head out for the nature walk in the Bigodi swamp land. There is a lot of wildlife to enjoy, including primates, a number of monkey species, and lots of birds and butterflies. After the walk, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking Kibale or transfer to Queen Elizabeth Park
Have an early breakfast at 6:30 am, thereafter transfer to the park offices to convene with other travelers for a briefing, and thereafter start the trek into Kibale Forest to find the chimpanzees. After the exciting experience in the forest, return to meet your driver or guide, who will drive you to your safari lodge for lunch. Later transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for an evening game drive after checking in the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Queen Elizabeth Game drive with an afternoon boat cruise
Wake up at 6:00 am and have an early breakfast, and head out to the Kasenyi sector for the early morning game drive to catch the nocturnal and lots of big game, including large herds of elephants and buffaloes, kobs, topis, waterbucks, leopards, hyenas, and wonderful scenery. The game drive will take approximately 2 hours. You’ll then return to the lodge, relax, and have lunch.
Later transfer to the Kazinga channel for a boat ride. Enjoy an array of wildlife and birds lining the banks of the Kazinga channel, including hippos, buffaloes, elephants, antelopes, and monitor lizards, among others. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Travel back from Queen Elizabeth to Kampala or Entebbe
After breakfast in the morning, checkout and drive back to Kampala. You may get to see some animals on the way out as an added game drive. A lunch stop will be made in Mbarara town. Another stop will be made at the Equator for some photo moments, and you can buy some souvenirs. Continue to Kampala and be dropped off at your hotel or transferred to Entebbe International Airport for your evening flight.
