Detail itinerary for 6-days Gorilla trekking Rushaga & Mgahinga gorilla
Day 1: Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park (Rushaga)
After your breakfast, you will be picked up by your driver/guide to begin your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable in the Rushaga section. This en-route, you will have a short stop at the Uganda Equator for pictures and a cup of coffee. Another stop will be made in Mbarara for lunch. Continue with your journey to Bwindi and upon your arrival, you will check into your booked safari lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: H/B
Day 2: Gorilla trekking Rushaga (Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park)
Drive to the park offices after breakfast for a briefing on your Gorilla tracking activity so you know what to expect and what is expected of you when in a close encounter with the gentle giants of Bwindi. Return to the lodge for an evening of relaxation, you are encouraged to get plenty of rest in preparation for the hard adventure activities ahead. Dinner and overnight. Meal plan: F/B
Day 3: Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
After your breakfast, you will check out of your safari lodge and begin your journey to your booked safari lodge in Mgahinga or close to Mgahinga. On your way to your booked safari lodge, you will have a brief tour of Shozi caves to view the fascinating caves that were used by King Luganzi of Rwanda as an escape route during times of war. Head to your lodge, check in and have lunch. You will get some time to relax before you head for a canoeing activity on Lake Chahafi and a hike to Murora hill for a chance to view the Anglo-Belgian trenches dug in 1915 during World War I. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: F/B
Day 4: Golden monkey trekking and Batwa
After your breakfast, you will drive to the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park offices for a session of briefing before you set out for the Golden Monkey trekking activity. Return from your adventure, have lunch and set out for a cultural encounter with the Batwa community, indigenous to the Ituri forest of Congo. Return from your full day’s adventure to freshen up and have dinner at the lodge. Meal plan: F/B
Day 5: Hike Mount Sabinyo
This will pretty much be a full day’s event and like any hike probably a little challenging, but Sabinyo will reward you with the most amazing views and enable you to stand in three countries (Uganda, DRC and Rwanda) at the same time without needing a visa. It will be quite an early morning, so be sure to have had plenty of rest the previous day. You will have a heavy breakfast and packed lunch with plenty of water and snacks to keep your energy levels high for the day’s fun-filled hard adventure. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 6: Travel back to Kampala
You will get to sleep in a little bit longer to rest of some of the exhaustion from the previous day and we will set off for Kampala around 8:30 am after your breakfast with lunch en-route. You will be dropped off at your booked hotel in Kampala/Entebbe. Meal plan: H/B
