Detailed Itinerary For 8 days Uganda Safari and Gorilla Rwanda tracking Safari.
Day 1: Arrival with transfer to Kampala
Depending on your flight details, you will be picked up from the airport by your guide/driver and dropped off at your booked accommodation. If there is time, you could meet with your safari consultant for a cup of coffee or dinner. You will then rest as you get ready for your next day’s safari, dinner and overnight at your hotel in Kampala / Entebbe.

Day 2: Drive to Kibale National Park with a Bigodi Swamp Nature Walk.
With an early morning pick-up from your hotel at 6:30 am, you will start the journey at exactly 6:45 am driving straight to Kibale National Park. You will use the Northern route from Kampala through Mubende and finally to Fort Portal. You will have lunch in fort portal and then continue to the national park for your afternoon nature walk.
You should be at Kanyanchu, the starting point before 2:00 pm to start the nature walk. The walk takes 2 to 3 hours, and you will retire for the day, check into your safari lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking and Cultural Walk in the afternoon
You will kick off your day with your early morning breakfast and be at the starting point of tracking (Kanyanchu) by 7:30 am. Here you will be debriefed on the dos and don’ts during the chimpanzee tracking in the deep forest. The track starts at exactly 8:00 am and lasts for about 2-3 hours and you get to spend some time with these interesting creatures after which you will track back to the starting point, where your driver/guide will be waiting to receive you and take you to the safari lodge for lunch. After you have had your lunch, you will head back to the starting point of the cultural walk and get some time with the locals and see the beautiful crafts that they make.

Day 4: Kibale Forest National Park – Bwindi Forest National Park
You will have an early start of your day, check out of your safari lodge and have breakfast then proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with a lunch stop on the way. This drive takes you through Uganda’s rolling green hills and through the highlands, also known as the “Switzerland of Uganda.”
The road will lead even higher to where you can see the triangular peaks of the Virunga Volcanoes of Rwanda and Congo. We will then drop down into the valley to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Dinner and overnight at Accommodation

Day 5: Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
After breakfast, your guide will take you along to the ranger station to register before 8:00 am for the tracking. You will be given a short briefing by the rangers before setting off. The trackers will lead you through the forest, slashing at the undergrowth, parting thick creepers, to track gorillas. This trek can take from half an hour to five hours depending on how fast you find the Gorilla family you are tracking; therefore, a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a good pair of walking shoes.
You will get to sit in the forest among the gorillas listening to them grumble at each other and marvel at the sheer size of the dominant male, the silverback. You will be so amazed.

Day 6: Transfer from Bwindi Forest to Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park
Wake up to a delicious early morning breakfast and proceed your drive through the triangular Mountainous areas heading to the Volcanoes National Park. You will have lunch and dinner en-route and upon your arrival in Rwanda, you will check into your hotel and get some rest.

Day 7: Mountain Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Wake up relatively early, have breakfast and drive to the ranger station for the briefing that will prepare you for your Gorilla tracking in the Volcanoes. You return to the Lodge after the Gorilla tracking activity and have lunch, spending a quiet afternoon and later retiring for the day after your dinner.
