Bwindi Lodges are found Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, 331 kms, is located in Southwestern Uganda, on the edge of the Albertine Rift Valley, on an altitude range from 1.160 m to 2.607 m. This is a real tropical rain forest, spread over a series of steep ridges and valleys, it is regarded as one of the most biologically diverse forest in Africa.
In the local language (Bwindi) from “mubwindi” means “dark place” referring to the impenetrable nature for human beings to the swamp located the Southeast of the actual Park, according to legends.

Buhoma Lodge
Buhoma Lodge commands spectacular and uninterrupted views of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park home to the rare and elusive Mountain Gorilla. We have completely renovated the original Buhoma Homestead and now offer a top quality, intimate lodge for our guests’ enjoyment. Situated within the National Park, less than five minutes’ walk, from the start of the gorilla trekking point.
Eight, comfortable cottages have been carefully built, each with its own private verandah, allowing wonderful views of the forest canopy of the National Park. Inside the spacious cottages you will find comfortable beds, a well-appointed en suite bathroom with flushing toilet and a hot shower and also some rooms with bathtubs. An elevated lounge area, complete with bar and dining facilities, offers a cozy, comfortable environment, to discuss the day’s activities around the fireplaces which add atmosphere and warmth in the cool evenings.
Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge
Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge is located within Bwindi impenetrable forest National Park, which is 10 minutes’ walk or 5 minutes’ drive to Rushaga gate. “Ichumbi”, a word derived from Rufumbira means, a “cool and comfortable home.”
The lodge is eco –friendly with a beautiful environment offering a spectacular view of Bwindi Forest. All the rooms are clean and spacious giving one a luxurious sighting of the morning sun rise.
The restaurant is fully furnished with Eco friendly wood and a typical Ugandan touch that will make you feel relaxed as you take your meals. The lodge offers luxury-pocket friendly rates with different room types to suit the needs of each guest. They range from single, double, twin and family cottages which are installed with 3 options of power source, full time hot water supply, with free Wi-Fi.
Gorilla Resort
The Gorilla Resort – Bwindi This new Intimate exclusive high end safari camp with a breath – taking view of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is located at Buhoma – Bwindi Impenetrable Gorilla National Park on a Mountain side. The camp has been constructed and built to the highest standards whilst retaining sympathy with the local surroundings. Wherever possible local materials and craftsmen have been used.
Volcanoes Bwindi Camp
This attractively low – key camp consists of several secluded self – contained standing tents, carved into individual clearings in the surrounding scrub. The restaurant and bar are on a wooden deck with a great view over the gallery forest on the park boundary. Half board accommodation costs. Meals are available at USD 3 for a main course or Uganda shillings 5 USD for 3 courses.
Gorilla Forest Camp
Owned by an up-market safari operator. This fabulous, tented camp is easily the plushest option a Bwindi. Cut into a lush forest glade about 500 meters inside the park entrance at Buhoma. The secluded self-contained walk-in twin tents are protected beneath a thatch roof extending over a private deck, while meals and drinks are served in an organically decorated open sided common area. A good variety of birds and more occasionally monkeys, regularly pass through the grounds.
Buhoma Camp
It is little more than a jumped – up local guest house – the Buhoma Homestead would feel extortionately priced anywhere else in the country. But it’s a fair compromise between cost and comfort at Bwindi with a friendly atmosphere and an attractive location within the park boundary. This attractive complex is set in wooded grounds in a slope facing a forest gallery immediately inside the park entrance gate. A bed in a six-berth dormitory, while twin and double bandas cost. Camping is permitted at USD 3 per person. No visitation fee is needed for staying here unless you go on a walk into the park. Basic meals can be ordered for in advance at a cost of USD 3. Drinks are also available.
Silver Back Lodge
This small and cozy lodge is perched on high, atop the valley overlooking Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the view is absolutely stunning. Bird watching and primate viewing is possible right from the front door of your room, The architectural design is simple and natural, yet filled with the character that Geo lodges Uganda has become known for. There are nine rooms built next to each other that are designed using local materials, such as the forest vines, sisal rope and purple slate stone.
Each room has an en-suite bathroom (with hot water showers) and comfortable chairs on the verandas for viewing the forest and clouds that drift by in the valley. The restaurant offers dishes from local to international menus, set in cozy surroundings. The Summit Bar is well stocked and in a comfortable setting which is perfect for sharing the day’s adventures of gorilla trekking, primate watching and bird viewing.
