Horseback riding Uganda
Horseback riding in Uganda is an authentic and memorable experience on the back of the horse along the River Nile, with Sugar and Tea Plantations offering the most panoramic and scenic view from the hilltops to the Nile valley. There are two levels of horseback riding: the introductory and advanced participants.
The introductory riders who are under beginners, young children, and older adults are recommended to participate in the 1-hour or 1.5-hour horse ride, and the advanced skilled riders usually take in the 2-hour horse because they are experienced with the horse riding. There are two sessions that are conducted in the morning, which starts at 10:00 a.m., and the evening of 4:00 p.m. on a daily basis.
However, all the participants are advised, and it’s a must to first take a 30-minute introductory session in order to know the riding experience and level to ensure the safety and security of the horses and the riders. The most important point here is the weight of all the horse riders who are to participate in the activity. As for introductory riders, the maximum weight is 85 kilograms, which is one or one and a half hours, and the maximum weight for advanced riders is 80 kilograms for long rides, which is two hours.
Horseback riding can also be combined with other land-based or water-based activities in Jinja, which include quad biking, whitewater rafting, whitewater kayaking, ziplining in Mabira Forest, river bugging on the Nile, bungee jumping on the Nile, bird watching in the Mabira Forest, and visiting the source of the Nile.
